MyFace Bookperformance (2012/TR, 2014/EN) is the first textual Bookperformance [equally Performancebook] and the inaugural piece of the Çiğdem Mirol Bookperformance Quartet, a series of four works complementing each other. As “truthful-fiction” in Mirol’s words, it begins with a letter from the beloved author to the beloved reader(s), asking: “Shall We Reinvent Love?” It unfolds through scenes titled “The Lost Author,” “The Empty Notebook,” and “The White Pencil,” culminating in “All of Myself”—the spiral which also appears on this website and invites the reader into active participation in the unfolding Bookperformance. Its closing scene, the “Bookperformance Manifest” (11.11.11), articulated by Mirol, opens seven thresholds to what she calls “multi-sensory reading and writing” of life.
